During the
late sixties, two Adastra Hudsons met up in Alice Springs. After
several refreshing lemonades, the crew of one Hudson decided to
creatively acquire an eight foot long bomb-shaped object which
adorned the entrance to the Alice Springs Post Office. The "bomb"
was then transported on two motor cycles travelling in tandem
to the airport where it was wired inside the bomb bay of the other
Hudson, the crew of which were still back at the hotel. Apparently
there was much consternation when the aircraft arrived in Sydney
the following day and the bomb bay was opened to reveal - a bomb!
