Hudson VH-BPT in cloud-seeding configuration with silver iodide burners mounted under the wing tips. The photo would have been taken in 1957 either at Tamworth or Wagga Wagga. The Signal Square on the ground between the aircraft and its shadow includes the "Restricted Operations" signal (the so-called "dumb-bell") which denotes that only sealed areas of the aerodrome (i.e. not grassed) are safe for operations. Whether or not this indicates rainfall attributable to the operations of the Hudson is unknown! (Thanks to Phil Vabre of the Airways Museum for the explanation of the Signal Square).Photo: East-West Airlines
