Hudson VH-AGO on display at an air show believed to be at Bankstown. The Auster VH-DYY in the background was registered on 24 June 1955 to Titus Oates of Sydney and sold on 10 July 1955 to the North Australian Uranium Company of Darwin. This would suggest that the photograph was taken around June/July 1955. The Hudson is noteworthy because it has a shiny appearance suggesting that it has been recently painted. It was previously believed that Adastra began painting their Hudson tails white circa 1956 so this photograph may represent the debut of the white tail. It is further possible that VH-AGO was the first Adastra Hudson to be painted with a white tail. The sign in the left foreground mentions Marshall Airways but is otherwise illegible. The wingtip is that of a Puss Moth, probably VH-UQB. Picture: Ron Beckett
