Interpretation Report on Airborne Magnetometer Survey of the Surat-Bowen Basin Area Eastern Australia

This map shows the survey blocks and the dates they were flown. The survey was flown by Adastra but the data gathered was interpreted by Aero Service of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, aircraft identities are not recorded. The flying began with Catalina VH-AGB and Anson VH-BLF and by late 1962, Hudsons VH-AGE and VH-AGS were engaged on the contract. It is noteworthy that during the course of the survey, Union Oil and Australian Oil and Gas struck oil in the Moonie area of Queensland. This led to the survey being extended into New South Wales.
